Monument in honour of Albert Thiebaut

Situated at the foot of the Escorials, the name given to the residential area where many of the top employees from the company that worked at the potash mines lived. It was home to engineers and technical staff (1929-2007) and this monument commemorates Albert Thiebaut a civil engineer and head of the Administrative Council at the UEE, the Spanish Explosives Union, who were responsible for the industrialisation and exploitation of the salt quarry. The monument was inaugurated in 1949 and is the work of two artists, Joaquín Vaquero and Josep Ustrell.
