Located to the west of the town centre, the name of Vall, which means valley or basin, is derived from the lowlands of the Capdevila area, where the square and fountain are located. Once water from the Martins source reached the town it was issued at three public fountains, each with their own spring which were located in the following places; the first one was in the Vall de Capdevila, the second one at the fairground (la Fira) and the third one near the main gate, the Barcelona Gate.
